American Heart Association To Honor George A. Petrossian, MD, FACC At American Heart Ball

The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that George A. Petrossian, MD, FACC Director of Interventional Cardiovascular Procedures at St. Francis Hospital will be the honored at the 51st Annual Heart Ball.  In his role as Honoree, he will assist in raising support and creating awareness about heart disease and stroke as it pertains to the Long Island community. The 51st Annual Heart Ball will take place on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Uniondale.

Dr. Petrossian has been a member of the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital and South Nassau Communities Hospital for over twenty years.

He received his medical degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and then completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Presbyterian Hospital NY, followed by his Interventional Cardiology training at The Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association for many years. He is consistently recognized by Castle Connolly as one of the “Best Doctors” in both the New York Area and in America. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Medicine.

He has developed an expertise in coronary intervention, carotid stenting, peripheral vascular disease and most recently Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Implantation, and Left Atrial Appendage Closure. He has been involved in numerous clinical research trials and was the first physician on Long Island to perform both carotid stenting and Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Implantation.

Dr. Petrossian lives in Sands Point on Long Island with his family.
