A crowd of over 900 Long Islanders attended the 17th Annual Long Island Go Red For Women Luncheon on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. The sea of red could be seen throughout all the rooms at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

 

This year’s Luncheon honored The Women of SterlingRisk, and Doug DeShutter, President, Customer Communications, Broadridge. Charlotte Biblow, Esq., Partner, Farrell Fritz, P.C. and The Links Incorporated, Eastern Shore Chapter received Community Honoree Awards. The honorees are committed to raising support and creating awareness about heart disease and stroke especially, as it pertains to women. Teresa Evans, Director, Human Resources Business Partner, National Retail, Freedom Mortgage was Chair of the Luncheon.

 

Those in attendance also heard from two-time heart transplant survivor, Ginger Zimmerman, and Gary D. Foster, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer, Weight Watchers International, Inc.

 

“Participating in this event each year is an inspiring experience.”  said Teresa Evans who chaired this years’ event. Leeana Costa and Jon Daniels, K98.3 did an amazing job as event emcees.

 

The American Heart Association’s 17th Annual Go Red For Women Luncheon combined an elegant luncheon reception, incredible auction and networking opportunities. The Luncheon featured educational breakout sessions presented by recognized and credentialed healthcare professionals, providing women with information, resources and hope to take action and live a longer, stronger life.
